FR 202: Grammer and Compositions
This French course is designed to review French grammar taught in FR 003 and to teach new grammar. These techniques were practiced in monthly compositions. This is one course required for my French major. Read the full description for FR 202 here.
Composition 3: Letter to a Newspaper
The purpose of this composition was to write a letter to an editor of a newspaper discussing how a controversial topic had been portrayed in their newspaper. I decided to write to the editor of Le Nouvel Observateur regarding an article published about the dangers of animal testing. I disagreed, saying there were many positive aspects of animal testing not discussed in the article.
The grammar necessary to write this paper include the imperfect, conditional and subjunctive verb tenses. We also needed to be able to identify a current "hot topic" in the media, take a specific view point on the topic and conduct research to support the claims we make in our letter.
